Nokia Networks to further develop operational efficiency of its production plant in Espoo, Finland
| Source: Nokia Oyj
The personnel needs at the factory has decreased as the production process has been developed and the roles of the different Nokia Networks plants have been further clarified. The Espoo plant concentrates mainly on integration of mobile switches.
In order to increase the operational efficiency on the plant, Nokia Networks starts negotiations with the personnel representatives about the planned changes. The planned personnel reductions would concern 55-75 people.
The planned changes aim at adjusting the organisation so that it supports efficient and competitive operations in the best possible way. By reacting fast to the market demands and by continuously developing operational efficiency, Nokia Networks aims to maintain its leading position among infrastructure suppliers.
Nokia Networks employed 19 392 people globally at the end of 2001.
