Share trading
The average share trading turnover per business day amounted to SEK 13 843 million during April (during the past 12-month period: 14 361). In March 2002 the average share trading turnover per business day amounted to SEK 14 022 million. The average number of closed transactions per business day has been 36 480 during April (during the past 12-month period: 38 549).
The turnover rate during April was 132% (during the past 12-month period: 131%).
Derivative trading
Average derivative trading turnover (Swedish share and interest-rate related contracts) amounted during April to 231 740 contracts (during the past 12-month period 251 240) per business day. The average derivative trading turnover amounted during March to 258 784 per business day. The average number of contracts in share-related derivative products amounted during April to 211 015 contracts (during the past 12-month period 223 193) per business day, while the average number of contracts in interest-rate related derivative products amounted during April to 20 725 contracts (during the past 12-month period 28 047) per business day.
The total value of trade in stock options amounted for April to SEK 102.4 (during the past 12-month 117.3) million per day. The total value of trade in stocks options amounted for March to SEK 92.4 million per day.
Warrants trading
The average warrants trading turnover per business day amounted to SEK 25 698 thousand during April (during the past 12-month period: 41 059). In March 2002 the average warrants trading turnover per business day amounted to SEK 31 385 thousand.
Index developments
The OMX index decreased during April by 10.6% and closed on 714.3 (28 March 2002: 798.6). The Benchmark index closed on 242.6 as of 30 April (28 March 2002: 263.8), which is a decreased of 8.0%. The SX All-share index (the SAX index) closed on 210.8 (28 March 2002: 232.0), which corresponds to a decrease of 9.1% during the month.
The Consumer Staples Index increased most during the month and closed on 326.5 (28 March 2002: 286.1), which is an increase of 14.1%. The Information Technology Index decreased most during the month and closed on 181.0 (28 March 2002: 283.7), which is a decrease of 36.2 %.
Listed companies
During April, 1 company have been delisted from the A-list. The number of listed companies on Stockholmsborsen amounts to 298, of which 68 are listed on the A-list and 230 on the O-list. Total market value for the companies on the A-list amounts to SEK 2 009 billion, and on the O-list to SEK 478 billion. Total market value thereby amounted to SEK 2 487 billion as of 28 April 2002 (28 March 2002: 2 742).
