POMONA, Calif., May 3, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Keystone Automotive Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq:KEYS) today announced it has acquired the plastic bumper recycling operation of Arizona Plating & Anodizing Company, based in Phoenix, Arizona. The plastic recycling operation has annualized revenues of approximately $1.0 million. Terms were not disclosed.
"The acquisition of certain assets of Arizona Plating represents an opportunity to add OEM bumper recycling capabilities to our existing distribution business in this region," said Charles J. Hogarty, president and chief executive officer of Keystone.
He noted that Keystone currently has 36 other plastic bumper operations across the United States.
Keystone Automotive Industries, Inc. distributes its products in the United States primarily to collision repair shops through its 115 distribution facilities, of which 21 serve as regional hubs. Its product lines consist of automotive body parts, bumpers, radiators and air conditioning condensers and remanufactured alloy wheels, as well as paint and other materials used in repairing a damaged vehicle. These products comprise more than 19,000 stock keeping units that are sold to more than 25,000 repair shops throughout the nation.
