New year with new conditions
- First quarter sales amounted to SEK 1,839,000 (1,075,000). - Operating loss improved to SEK -13,306,000 (-30,256,000). The result after financial items improved to SEK -11,879,000 (-28,265,000), a result improvement of SEK 16,386,000 compared to the same period last year. - Liquid funds at the close of the period totaled SEK 162,959,000, or SEK 2.97 per share. - The number of employees at the end of the period amounted to 31 (75). - Effnet released Effnet CRTP, a total solution for IP header compression for wireline Voice-over IP. The software, which targets media gateways and customer premise equipment, opens a new market for Effnet. - Wkit Security signed its first licensing agreement for copy protection software DBB 3.0 with Sonopress, Europe's largest CD manufacturer. The software has been ported and adapted to Sonopress' copying system and delivery to end customers can begin in May 2002. - Effnet published a study carried out together with consulting firm Logical Tree AB showing that by using IP Header Compression, operators' need for infrastructure investments in 2.5G and 3G networks can be lowered by up to USD 15 billion through 2005 - about 15 percent of total investments in infrastructure. - Effnet launched an advanced financial tool that helps operators and customers calculate savings when using IP Header Compression in 2.5G and 3G networks. The tool has raised great interest among the media, Effnet's customers, and not least, among the customers' customers, the operators. This has strongly contributed to streamlining and facilitating Effnet's sales procedures.
Events after the end of the period
- A third testing session was conducted in Lulea as part of the ongoing cooperative testing process between Effnet, Ericsson, Nokia, and Siemens. The test is one in a series of compatibility tests for each company's RoHC solutions.
