COPENHAGEN, Denmark, May 8, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Carlsberg A/S: 


 -- Operating profit amounted to DKK 439m against DKK 144m last
    year (+205%).

 -- Profit before amortization and write-down on goodwill
    (exclusive of one-off items in 2001) improved by DKK 220m.

 -- Progress in beer volume compared to last year of +21% (16.0m hl).

 -- A program for repurchase of own shares will be established.
