ZAVENTEM, May 14, 2002(PRIMEZONE) -- Virgin Express (Euronext Brussels:VIRE)(Nasdaq:VIRGY) and VG Airlines have signed a commercial sales agreement whereby, VG Airlines offers its passengers to/from its American destinations, the possibility to connect out of Brussels with Virgin Express to 14 major European destinations.
At present the preparatory work is being carried out on the logistical and operational level in order to be able to implement this agreement as soon as possible.
Furthermore, both Belgian airlines will assist each other in the future. For instance, an Airbus A330 of VG Airlines carried out a Virgin Express return flight yesterday from Brussels to Barcelona, due to the high demand on the market after a prolonged weekend. In less than 20 hours, Virgin Express sold 37 additional seats.

"The high frequencies on most European destinations, the exceptional on-time performance and the value for money concept of Virgin Express have lead to Virgin Express' high load factor figures in recent months. We hope that we may record on the VG Airlines routes load factor figures which are as high as those of Virgin Express," added Van Gaever.
