McLEAN, Va., May 31, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- KnowledgeMax, Inc. (OTCBB:KWMX) is pleased to announce today the addition of Amb. Delano E. Lewis as the newest member of its board of directors.
An experienced corporate executive and diplomat, Amb. Lewis sits on the boards of Colgate-Palmolive, Eastman Kodak, Africare, and Foundation Schools. In the past, he has served on the boards of Apple Computer, Chase Manhattan, Halliburton, Black Entertainment Television, and the Eugene and Agnes Meyer Foundation.
For much of his career, Amb. Lewis worked with C&P Telephone Company, a subsidiary of Bell Atlantic Corporation. In July 1988, he was named President of C&P, and later became its Chief Executive Officer.
Subsequently, Amb. Lewis served at National Public Radio (NPR) as its President and Chief Executive Officer, and later as Chairman of the NPR Foundation. "I'm excited about joining the KnowledgeMax board," stated Amb. Lewis. "Throughout my career I've seen the importance of training and reeducating the workforce, and the impressive solution that KnowledgeMax has developed meets a very real corporate and management need."
Delano Lewis's lifetime of social, philanthropic, and outreach activities was capped when President Clinton appointed him to be U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of South Africa in 1999, where he served until his retirement from diplomatic service in 2001.

Previously, Amb. Lewis worked in the Peace Corps as Associate Director in Nigeria and Country Director in Uganda. Later in the offices of Sen. Edward Brooke (R-MA) and Del. Walter E. Fauntroy (D-DC.) He has served as President of The Greater Washington Board Of Trade, Chairmen of The United Way Campaign, Chairmen of the D.C. Youth Employment Advisory Council, and co-chair of The National Information Infrastructure Advisory Council (NIIAC.)
Among many honors and awards, Ambassador Lewis was named "Washingtonian of The Year" and awarded Catholic University's America's President Award and the Sovereign Order Of Malta. He has also received honorary degrees from George Washington University, Marymount University and Bowie State University, Kent State University and Lafayette College.
The appointment has been approved by the company's board and was effective May 22, 2002.
