STOCKHOLM, Sweden, June 4, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- IBS has signed a major contract with Alloga AG for IBS Pharma, IBS' specialised software solution for pharmaceutical distribution. Alloga AG is a joint venture between Swiss Galenica and English Alliance UniChem. The company specializes in comprehensive logistics services for the pharmaceutical industry, especially pre-wholesale. Alloga will use IBS Pharma, together with IBS' standard ASW software, for distribution, financial management and business control, to handle all their business processes, e.g. quality assurance, sample drawing, warehousing, order handling, packing and shipping as well as invoicing and encashment.
Alloga AG, with its modern logistics center in Burgdorf, Switzerland, has established a pan-European network that already covers Benelux, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, and the company's customers include well-known names such as GlaxoSmithKline, Eli Lilly and Pfizer.
"Implementation of a modern IT solution is key for the success of Alloga. With IBS' software we see an opportunity for us to take advantage over our competitors," said Roger Cavillier, General Manager of Alloga AG. "Considering the software's performance of two million order lines per hour and an average response time of 0.04 seconds, we are convinced that we have backed the right horse. Moreover, another Galenica subsidiary, Galexis, has already been using solutions from IBS for two years, so we had valuable information about the industry- specific competence of IBS and about the quality of the software prior to our decision."
IBS Pharma is based on IBS' ASW business software and contains components for supply chain automation, warehouse management and inventory control, distribution planning, co-ordination of personal selling over the phone, customer relations management, financials, business analysis and e-commerce. With its peak-performance capacity, it accelerates replenishment and sales processes, optimizes warehousing, minimizes errors and stock discrepancies, and improves distribution planning.
"We are very happy that we have been chosen by Alloga AG, one of the most important logistics providers of the European pharma industry," said Magnus Wastenson, Vice President of the IBS Group. "IBS Pharma is an excellent fit for the pre-wholesale market segment. We are convinced that our industry-specific solution will soon add considerable value to Alloga."
