The 9 day strike among the Norwegian journalists has come to an end after the parties reached a new collective agreement Thursday evening. The settlement has a financial frame of 5.37% which is on the same level as other settlements in the business. Journalists with more than 15 and 18 years experience will get 2 and 3 more days off respectively. The wage part of the settlement is approx. 4,6%.
The strike has cost the Schibsted Group approx. NOK 45-60 mill. The Schibsted Group will focus on cost reductions that will compensate for the financial losses inflicted. In addition further efforts will be considered in order to counteract the long term financial consequences of the settlement.
