Breed Technologies Inc. sold VTI Hamlin in May to EQT Northern Europe,
a private equity fund. Consequently the licence agreement between
Vaisala and Breed concerning Vaisala technology, has been transferred
from Breed to VTI Hamlin. Changes in the agreement will bring Vaisala
an income of EUR 2 million.
Vaisala is a successful international technology group that develops
and manufactures electronic measurement systems and equipment. The
application areas of Vaisala's products include meteorology,
environmental sciences, traffic and industry. Vaisala employs more
than 1200 professionals, and the Group's turnover totaled EUR 183.5
million in 2001. Vaisala's products are sold worldwide. In 2001,
exports accounted for over 96% per cent of the turnover. Vaisala's
series A shares are listed on the Helsinki Exchanges.
