STOCKHOLM, Sweden, July 11, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Gunnebo, the global security company, today acquired, through its subsidiary Rosengrens-Seifert A/S, RIVA Systems Denmark A/S, which has an annual turnover of some MDKK 22 (MEUR 2.8).
RIVA Systems has been owned by its management since 1999 and currently has 26 employees. The business is mainly focused on the sale and support of data processing systems linked to "point-of-sales" and stock control for the retail trade and "point-of-sales" for the public sector.
Service accounts for a large proportion of the turnover, and service contracts are sold at the time the systems are installed. RIVA's "point- of-sales" systems are currently installed in more than 450 retail outlets and several museums in Denmark.
"The acquisition of RIVA is a valuable complement to our existing compe tence in the growing field of automated cash handling. We see also some potential for coordination of the service activities in Denmark," explained Torbjorn Browall, incoming President, Gunnebo Physical Security.
