NEW YORK, Sept. 4, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Exus Networks, Inc. (OTCBB:EXUS) today announced the creation of a Center for Interfaith Studies dedicated to His Holiness, Pope John Paul II, marking the inauguration of its Distance Education Network.
The creation of the Center for Interfaith Studies has been inspired and supported by His Holiness Pope John Paul II, who through his journeys, love for children and support for their education focused Exus Global Networks on the issue of Distance Education in the area of Interfaith Studies and Communications. Excerpts of the Pope's message will be featured on the site. Support for the Center is being sought from foundations and others supporting Interfaith education.
Exus has inaugurated today its Distance Education Network. It is creating a Portal that will feature six categories: School of Medicine, School of Language, School of Nursing, Center of Inter Faith Studies and College of Computer and Science Technology. In each category, Exus will partner with various content developers to offer the best educational environment.
Exus Shared Satellite Network will provide the backbone to deliver these programs to emerging markets. Exus expects that such programs can lead to partnerships with organizations that support distance learning programs for the emerging markets, such as the World Bank's - Global Development Learning Network and NATO's Silk Road Project. Exus has had discussions with these agencies, and such discussions are continuing.
Exus' new Distance Education web site will be launched on October 1, 2002 with content for English as a Second Language. Also Exus College of Computer and Science Technology will feature on-line courses leading to certification by Microsoft, Lotus, Cisco and others.
