WASHINGTON, Sept. 6, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Executives of Investrend Communications, Inc. (www.investrend.com), have joined the founding members of The CEO Council (www.ceocouncil.net), a newly formed non-profit association representing public companies.
Gayle Essary, CEO; Scott Carroll, President of Investrend Broadcast and Todd Essary, a corporate Director, will represent Investrend Communications, Inc. as members of the CEO Council. Essary, a founder, was recently elected a director to serve until a new Board may be elected and installed at the upcoming annual meeting. Carroll was named by the Board as Vice Chair of the upcoming CEO Summit September 25th.
The CEO Council has affirmed its mission statement as a prelude to its first CEO Summit in Washington D.C., said Gerald N. Kern, CEO of Meditech Corp. (OTCBB:MDCH), and the Council's interim Chair.
Said Kern, "The mission of the CEO Council is to provide a common voice and platform for officers and directors of public companies, and enable them to more effectively interpret and participate in the corporate governing and regulatory process to ensure compliance, to safeguard shareholder value and to clearly demonstrate a dedication to fair and ethical business practices." Kern elaborated, " Our motto is 'In the Public Interest'."
Kern said that Investrend Communications, Inc. is "taking a giant step in support of responsible public company governance, and we welcome its participation and Mr. Essary's service as a board member."
