DUBLIN, Ireland, Sept. 26, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Allied Irish Banks, p.l.c. (AIB) (NYSE:AIB) confirms that it is in discussions with a U.S. bank in relation to a possible partnership involving Allfirst Financial Inc.
