Eins, zwei, G' Suffa! A Toast to Gemutlichkeit; Oktoberfest Dinner at The Museum Restaurant

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 4, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Chef Tracey Hopkins of The Museum Restaurant at the Philadelphia Museum of Art dons his lederhosen for the first annual Oktoberfest Dinner on Friday, October 25. Chef Hopkins and the Manyunk Brewery team up for this special dinner that will have guests raising their beer steins in song!

Chef Hopkins entwines traditional Bavarian cuisine with his own signature creativity, making this Oktoberfest worthy of the Hofbrauhaus. The reception begins with assorted canapes of beef tartare, smoked salmon and horseradish cream, Westphalian ham, onions and mustard, and lobster salad on poppyseed toast; all accompanied by a selection from Manyunk's micro brews. Larry Horrowitz, Brew Master from Manyunk Brewery, will guide guests through the brewing process of each selection and why it complements each course.

The first course begins with Hamburg Style Baked Oysters, followed by Black Bread and Sour Cream Soup with Pumpernickel Croutons for the second course. The third course consists of Hazelnut Crusted Cutlet of Veal with an Oktoberfest Brown Butter Sauce. Ale Glazed Bratwurst with Kreik Cabbage, Carmelized Onions and Rough Mustard round out the meal. Chef Hopkins' famed Apple-Cheese Strudel with Vanilla Sauce and Cherry Syrup tops off the dessert.
