CO-DETERMINATION NEGOTIATIONS CONCLUDED WITH ACCEPTED SUPPORT AND INCENTIVE SCHEMES

Negotiations between the personnel groups and the employer as stipulated in the Finnish law on co-determination in companies were concluded today, Wednesday 23 October 2002. During the 7-week negotiations the personnel effects of restructuring Kemira's administrative and service organization were discussed, including the support measures.

The negotiations arrived at an agreement between the employer and the personnel groups concerning support and incentive schemes in personnel   arrangements.

The negotiations discussed the proposed reduction of 40 employees of whom 10 are in the corporate centre and 30 employees are in the Kemira Service service centre. The need for reduction in personnel is based on reasons related to production and economic causes as well as reasons related to organizational restructuring. A further 50 jobs are subject to investigation for outsourcing options.
