Sika has opened a new plant in Montevideo, Uruguay. The investment was made to meet rising demands. The plant has a built up area of approx. 160,000 Sq. Feet and is used for the manufacturing of concrete admixtures, mortar and sealants.
The President of Uruguay, Dr. Jorge Battle, was the most prominent guest at the opening festivities. By attending he honored the presence of Sika in Uruguay for more than 40 years.
On this occasion, Dr. Jorge Battle expressed a specific wish for a closer relationship with Switzerland and a free trade agreement between Uruguay and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA).
