TABY, Sweden, Nov. 7, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Allgon AB has reached an agreement with Centurion Wireless Technologies Inc. (Centurion) whereby Centurion acquires for cash the business area Allgon Mobile Communications. The purchase price is USD 20 million.
Allgon Mobile Communications is a leading developer and manufacturer of mobile terminal antennas and components.
Centurion is a leading global supplier of custom-designed and manufactured antenna and power products for wireless handsets, data devices and networks.
The divestment of Allgon Mobile Communications will generate a capital gain of approximately SEK 115 M.
Allgon's business concept is to develop, manufacture and market radio-based solutions and other products for wireless telephony and data communications. Allgon's product range consists of antenna systems for infrastructure in mobile telephone networks; filters, combiners and similar products for base stations; repeater networks; microwave equipment and mobile telephone antennas. Allgon's invoiced sales amounted to SEK 2,001 million in 2001. The number of employees at the end of 2001 amounted to 950. Allgon was founded in 1946.
