STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Nov. 18, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Vodafone Sweden customers can now top up their global prepaid cards, Vodafone PRE-PAID, outside Sweden just as easily as they do at home. All they have to do is buy a voucher at any Vodafone retailer abroad and then call speed-dial number 223 to have their cards refilled. This means that customers never need to run out of money on their prepaid cards.
By choosing Vodafone PRE-PAID, customers no longer need to remember to top up their cards before leaving Sweden. Instead they can purchase local vouchers from Vodafone retailers wherever they may be, just as they do at home. To top up the card using a voucher purchased abroad, all the customer has to do is call speed-dial number 223 when abroad, instead of the customary 220 used in Sweden. The refilling process is performed in Swedish. Vodafone PRE-PAID allows customers to avoid running out of money on their prepaid cards and enables them to easily stay in touch with family and friends.
"Vodafone PRE-PAID is part of our efforts to offer our customers global coverage and communication anywhere in the world. Our customers have been able to use Vodafone PRE-PAID abroad since the summer. Now that they can also top up their prepaid cards abroad, we have taken another step in the right direction. The card is just as simple to use abroad as at home and makes it easier for customers to communicate," said Goran Mannerstrale, Director of Consumer Affairs at Vodafone Sweden.
Customers can currently top up their Vodafone PRE-PAID cards in Greece, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Spain, the U.K. and Netherlands, and several more countries are lined up for inclusion in the very near future.
