Friends Provident Invest EUR 745k with Telelogic to Optimize its IT Strategy and Further Consolidate its Competitive Edge

Under the Agreement, Friends Provident Will Gain Flexible, Open Access to Telelogic's Entire Toolset, Enabling the Company to Dramatically Improve its Development Lifecycle Processes

MALMO, Sweden, Nov. 27, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Telelogic (Other OTC:TGIAF) (Stockholm:TLOG), one of the leading global providers of solutions for advanced systems and software development, today announced that a leading UK financial services group, Friends Provident Life (Other OTC:FRDPF) (LSE:FP) and Pensions Ltd., is taking advantage of a bespoke, flexible 4-year agreement worth EUR 745k. Under the agreement, Friends Provident will extend access to Synergy, Telelogic's configuration and change management solution to its entire development organization. Crucially, the agreement also gives Friends Provident flexible licensing options for the rest of Telelogic's toolset. This ability to change and manage technology resources to match its exact requirements at any time will provide Friends Provident with vital commercial flexibility.

"IT is a key differentiator for Friends Provident," says Andy Jackson, Director of Information Technology, Friends Provident. "As an organization that is constantly developing a wide range of life & pensions products, improving access to products through technology has been key to our success. This agreement with Telelogic maximizes the way we can use IT to gain the optimum competitive edge."

Extending the use of Telelogic Synergy will give Friends Provident's development units the ability to reuse code across many projects. Geographically diverse teams will therefore be able to pool and reuse core components instead of duplicating effort. "Making Synergy more widely available will improve the speed and efficiency of our development processes," says Jackson.

As part of the new agreement, Friends Provident will also have immediate access to a pool of licenses that include Telelogic DOORS for requirements management and Telelogic Tau/Architect for visual software development. These licenses are available to Friends Provident through a flexible licensing arrangement. This enables the customer to maximize their use of development tools across the entire development lifecycle.

Anders Lidbeck, President & CEO, Telelogic, explains: "From conceptual requirements through to delivery, the systems/development lifecycle is complex. Telelogic has a number of solutions that can help at different stages. By combining these into a flexible package, users can deploy any of these solutions at a moment's notice. It eliminates the time-consuming logistical processes that have previously hampered organizations' ability to quickly access the relevant technology as projects come alive."
