Veteran Restructuring Expert to Address Financial Executives International L.A. Chapter

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 14, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Los Angeles Chapter of Financial Executives International will resume its 2002/2003 monthly program with Daniel W. Harrow, managing director of The Seidler Companies' Restructuring Division, addressing the organization's members at the Jonathan Club on Thursday evening, January 16, 2003.

In his after dinner presentation, Harrow will discuss key issues facing companies in a challenging economic environment, with a particular focus on preventive medicine and strategic measures to avoid financial and operational difficulties. In addition, he will highlight opportunities available to companies.

Harrow's 25-year career in finance and strategic counseling has been highlighted by several high-profile restructuring transactions. Selected clients have included: Carter Hawley Hale Stores, Inc. (The Broadway Stores), C & R Clothiers, Inc., Greyhound, Orange County, Hamburger Hamlet Restaurants, Reddi Brake Supply Company, Inc. (Auto Supply), Retama Park (Horse Racing), and Carolco Pictures, Inc.

Prior to joining The Seidler Companies, Harrow managed his own restructuring firm, D.W. Harrow & Associates. He specialized in distressed merger and acquisition transactions, capital raising, and financial advisory services to boards of directors, creditors, and management of financially distressed businesses. He has successfully participated in restructuring assignments exceeding $4 billion in value. In addition, he has held positions as chief executive officer and chief financial officer. Earlier, he was a partner with Chanin and Company, a distressed company advisory firm. His financial experience also includes positions with Bank of America, American Home Security, Inc., First Interstate Bank of California and Price Waterhouse.

Harrow earned a bachelor's degree in economics and art from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He also is a certified public accountant and real estate broker. In addition, he is a member of several business organizations including: The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), California Receivers Forum, and the Bankruptcy Mediation Panel for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court-Central District of California.

Founded in 1931, Financial Executives is a professional association for senior level financial executives, representing 15,000 individuals. Headquartered in Morristown, N.J. with office in Washington, D.C., the organization is comprised of 86 chapters across the United States and Canada and nine technical committees.

The organization's mission is to provide leadership on merging issues concerning the financial community, personal and professional development, advocacy services and peer networking opportunities for chief financial officers, vice presidents of finance, controllers, treasurers, tax executives, and finance and accounting professors in academia.
