'Mixed Signals' in Little Saigon -- A Compelling Action Adventure Novel

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 3, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Hired to investigate the robbery of a chip factory in "Little Saigon," Orange County, California, Private Investigator Tom LeMay is catapulted into a Byzantine pursuit of Thiet Van Sang, a businessman in the politically fractious community. Mixed Signals written by Stanton Korey (now available through 1stBooks Library) follows LeMay through a maze of political intrigue in the dangerous Vietnamese underworld.

Thiet works for an U.S. government agency and uses his jewelry store as a cover for his criminal and political activities. He runs a gang of thugs who are led by Eddie Tan, a psychopathic killer. They assassinate Thiet's political enemies, commit robberies and murder at his command.

Then, there's Lily Yong, a beautiful, young Vietnamese woman. While serving with the Marines, LeMay saved her life on April 30, 1975, at the American Embassy in Saigon, the night that America unceremoniously left Vietnam. She has her own political agenda and uses her womanly wiles to seduce LeMay into helping her destroy Thiet.

Thiet, threatened with exposure by LeMay, orders Eddie to kill him. A shootout occurs in the dark of night in LeMay's motel parking lot, and Eddie seriously wounds Len Dickson, a local detective who came to warn LeMay of the danger to him and his girlfriend. LeMay kills Eddie and saves his injured girlfriend and the dying detective. But Thiet is still on the loose, and the thrill of the chase has only just begun.

New York born Stanton Korey began his career in show business editing, reconstructing and writing voiceover narratives of historic silent films for a television series. After the usual ups and downs and unemployment checks, he eventually owned a bicoastal production company that produced hundreds of award winning commercials, sales films and documentaries. For the past twenty years, he has lived in Los Angeles, Calif., writing and producing for television, films and the stage. Mixed Signals is his first book.
