STOCKHOLM, Feb. 24, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Keith R. McLoughlin has been appointed new President of Electrolux Home Products (EHP) North America, the Electrolux Group's (Nasdaq:ELUX) business sector for white goods in North America.
McLoughlin, 46 is currently Vice President and General Manager of DuPont Nonwovens. He has served in a number of senior management positions in his 22 year career with DuPont successfully leading consumer branded businesses such as Tyvek(R), Corian(R), and Stainmaster(TM) carpeting. He also serves on the board of DuPont Canada, Inc.
McLoughlin graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a B.S. in engineering. He is married and has two children.
McLoughlin will assume his position on March 17 and be based in Augusta, Georgia. As President of EHP North America and Executive Vice President of Electrolux, he will be a member of Group Management and report to Hans Straberg, President and CEO of Electrolux.
EHP North America is the Electrolux Group's business sector for white goods in North America, with sales of approximately SEK 30 billion (USD 3.1 billion) and about 15,000 employees. The business sector sell their products under the Frigidaire and Tappan brand and the newly introduced Electrolux brand. The sector provides a full range of domestic appliances, including refrigerators, dishwashers, cookers, washing machines and room air conditioners.
Electrolux announced in September the plan to separate white goods appliances from consumer outdoor products in the North American market. Bob Cook has been serving the dual role of president for white goods and consumer outdoor products and will now be the president of consumer outdoor products in North America.
The Electrolux Group is the world's largest producer of powered appliances for kitchen, cleaning and outdoor use, such as refrigerators, washing machines, cookers, vacuum cleaners, chainsaws, lawn mowers, and garden tractors. Every year, customers in more than 150 countries buy more than 55 million Electrolux Group products for both consumer and professional use sold under famous brands such as AEG, Electrolux, Zanussi, Frigidaire, Eureka and Husqvarna. In 2002, Electrolux had sales of SEK 133.2 billion and 82,000 employees.
