LINKOPING, Sweden, Feb. 26, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Saab Training Systems, Huskvarna, Sweden, has been awarded a contract with the U.K. Ministry of Defence to deliver the Small Arms Transmitter BT47 to the British Army and Royal Air Force.
"This is a breakthrough in small arms training at home base for the British Army in Germany and the RAF based in the U.K.," said Mr Johan Ohlson, President, Saab Training Systems.
The laser based training equipment will be used on small arms weapons in force-on-force and home base training. Saab Training Systems has previously delivered man worn target vests which will be upgraded to be compatible with the new small arms transmitter.
The contract, worth approximately 20 million SEK, also includes alignment devices and observer/controller equipment. Delivery will take place in April and June 2003.
