The Government of Mexico and SGS signed today in Mexico a two year contract for the provision of SGS' newly launched service - SGS ValuNet(TM)
This innovative customs valuation verification service will enable Mexican Customs to mitigate valuation risks in a timely manner and make accurate decisions on the value of import transactions. "It will no longer be so easy to make false statements" said Mexico Finance Minister Francisco Gil Diaz when commenting on the contract.
SGS' Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne commented on this contract, "We appreciate the opportunity to work with a modern administration such as the Mexican Customs. This is a very important step in the remaking of SGS and its Trade Assurance Services and demonstrates our commitment to the business and our capacity to propose innovative client-oriented solutions."
SGS ValuNet(TM) aims at increasing trade compliance, reducing valuation fraud, protecting national industries against unfair import competition and reducing revenue losses.
