MALMO, Sweden, April 11, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Teleca has developed an interactive income tax return assistance system for the Swedish National Tax Board. The solution is being launched in conjunction with this year's income tax returns. It enables tax questions to be placed around the clock and to receive immediate responses without involvement from National Tax Board personnel. Teleca's solution can be used for all types of customer or civic services that require rapid answers to questions.
Everyone filing a tax return in Sweden this year will receive similar forms, which means that more than 7 million people will be filing at the same time. To make it easier and quicker to obtain answers to questions, and to relieve pressure on personnel, the National Tax Board is launching interactive assistance for filling out tax returns -- a web robot that is used on trial during 2003.
The interactive assistant for completing tax returns is called Erik. Questions can be placed to Erik in plain Swedish. Erik interprets questions and provides concrete answers by, for example, retrieving information from a database or by pointing out relevant websites.
Teleca has developed the solution in collaboration with Artificial Solutions, who are responsible for the user dialogue. The collaboration focuses on supplying solutions that support larger customer service solutions and development of 24-hour public authority service.
