COPENHAGEN, Denmark, May 7, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Copenhagen Airports A/S: in April 2003, the total number of passengers shows a decrease of 9.2% compared to the same month in 2002.
International passengers
The number of international scheduled passengers has decreased by 9.0%, while the number of international charter passengers has increased by 7.0%. Consequently, the total number of international passengers has decreased by 8.3%.
Domestic passengers
The total number of domestic passengers shows a decrease of 17.6% compared to 2002.
Operations and take-off weight
In April 2003, the total number of takeoffs and landings has decreased by 7.4%, while the tonnage shows a decrease of 5.5%.
In 2003, Easter fell in April, while in 2002 the main part of Easter fell in the month of March.
This affects the traffic negatively, since traditionally, Easter means less traffic at Copenhagen Airport. Furthermore, the development from April 2002 to April 2003 has been negatively affected by the war in Iraq as well as the SARS lung disease.
