VANCOUVER, B.C./CALGARY/DALLAS, May 8, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Destiny Media Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:DSNY) (Berlin:DME 935 410), Promo Only Canada Inc., Scott Studios Corp. and Computer Concepts Corp. are pleased to announce a joint agreement to develop a dedicated music delivery system powered by Destiny's proprietary patent pending MPE(tm) technology.
"The music industry is constantly changing and the downloading of songs is becoming more accepted. The problem has been the distribution of unauthorized audio files. MPE solves this issue. At Promo Only, we are excited about implementing this new technology," said Dean Ernst, President of Promo Only Canada Inc.
The recording industry needs a secure method of delivering music. MPE(tm) is unique in that although the content caches and is compatible with a variety of delivery methods including peer to peer, the files recognize the fingerprint of the target computer and will only play on authorized equipment.
Music companies can easily distribute their content with a "digital shrinkwrap tool." This tool will automatically encrypt the song with state-of-the-art "bank level" encryption, then associate the keys with fingerprints from target computers. The file is automatically uploaded to a target site so that users can access the songs at their leisure.
Steve Vestergaard, Destiny CEO, comments, "I'm pleased to work with Promo Only and Scott Studios because their business-to-business revenue model is proven and predictable. It also establishes our technology as an appropriate trusted security system for distributing music and other digital content."
Dave Scott, President of Scott Studios and Computer Concepts states, "We are committed to innovation in the music industry and giving our 4,300 client stations every possible advantage over their competition. We are excited to work with all the record companies, Promo Only Canada and Destiny Media in distributing digital music this new way that saves stations time dubbing or ripping, improves sound quality on the air and protects the interests of copyright owners, artists and record companies."
