Sika AG, Baar, Switzerland, a chemical specialties company, and Putzmeister AG, Aichtal, Germany, had entered into a strategic global alliance in the tunneling and mining sector. Putzmeister is a leader in the production and development of materials placing equipment for concrete, mortar and other high-viscosity materials.
Putzmeister will be responsible for the production of shotcrete systems; Sika is to serve as the exclusive sales agent. Both companies operate plants and sales organizations worldwide.
In addition Putzmeister and Sika pool their years of experience and professional know-how. As a result customers will henceforth benefit from new, innovative developments in shotcrete equipment.
Sika will continue to produce Aliva rotor machines.
The alliance will strengthen the market position in tunneling and mining of both companies throughout the world.
