STOCKHOLM, Sweden, July 8, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Song Networks Holding AB's (Stockholmsborsen:SONW) (Other OTC:SONWF) Swedish subsidiary Song Networks Svenska AB has signed an agreement with Ahlsell for the supply of data communication in Sweden and Norway. Together with previous agreement Ahlsell connects in total 125 units in the Nordic region to their IP based VPN solution. The new agreement extends over two years.
Ahlsell increases its IP VPN solution for data communication to Sweden and Norway in addition to already connected units in Finland and Denmark. Thereby Ahlsell will have a homogenous Nordic solution for its data communication.
"One of the reasons that we chose to gradually connect our Nordic offices to Song Networks' solution was to secure that the new solution would meet up to our demands on accessibility. Now we can see that the new solution has given the improvements that we expected. Now we have a flexible homogenous Nordic solution between all connected offices. Simultaneously the exchange of technology means more performance in our communication solution to a lower cost," said Tommy Zetterberg, responsible for IT infrastructure at Ahlsell.
The main site is connected with a redundant connection of 45Mbit/s and the remaining offices are connected with fixed connections between 512 Kbit/s and 2 Mbit/s. Furthermore about thirty employees will have access to the IP VPN solution from home over a coded Internet connection with the Internet VPN Gateway service.
