The Tasour field produced 19,030 barrels of oil per day in July, which is a production record for the field. The increase is due to Tasour # 10 which produces from the new discovery west of the main field, and increased production from one of the other wells after a new downhole pump was installed.
On Thursday 7 August, the Tasour area was hit by a strong tornado which caused considerable damage to parts of the accommodation units. Four people who were inside the accommodation units lost their lives in the violent storm. The deceased who were from Yemen, were not employed with DNO. The field installations did not suffer any damage, and production was not seriously affected by the incident.

A well now completed near the Sharyoof field did not prove any commercial hydrocarbons. Another well will be drilled in a new structure in block 53 before the drilling rig will be moved back to the Tasour field to drill a new well west of the main field.

Production from the Norwegian shelf declined by almost 700 barrels per day compared with June. Part of the reason is a brief production shutdown at the Glitne field because of preparations for the drilling of a new production well, which is expected to come onstream in the course of September.

Production from the UK increased marginally in July compared with June.
