Net Insight Awarded $1.7 Million Order from Next Generation Service Provider

This new network will offer studio-quality video transport for the broadcast and production studio markets in addition to VPN and video conferencing for enterprise. The network will include a virtual head end for delivering over 100 channels of television that will substantially reduce the cost of implementing a triple play solution. IOCs, CLECs and ILECS using the system will save well over $1 million in capital expenditures.

Net Insight's Nimbra Platform delivers the high efficiency transport required to send uncompressed video at 270Mbps plus data and voice with guaranteed 100% QoS throughout the network. Net Insight uses Ethernet tunnels and an automated control plane to dynamically route communications over multiple virtual paths for the world's fastest simultaneous delivery of voice, data and video traffic without the system bottlenecks and high overhead inherent in ATM and other legacy technologies.

"This deployment of our Nimbra platform demonstrates how Net Insight can help customers deliver the highest quality communication solutions for key markets," said Tomas Duffy, CEO of Net Insight. "No other transport platform can deliver the guaranteed QoS to enable a single network to meet the unique requirements of the broadcast, enterprise and consumer markets."

Global broadcasters use the Nimbra platform as a secure, high bandwidth alternative to satellite transmission. This allows broadcasters to do real time news editing and deliver new revenue generating services such as HDTV and video on demand. The Nimbra platform also provides video, data and voice transport for triple play deployments by Independent Operating Companies in Wisconsin and Alaska.
