STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Aug. 18, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Orc Software is the first independent software vendor (ISV) to be certified for all three of the Boston Options Exchange's (BOX) business profiles: BOX Market Maker, Proprietary trading and Agency execution. This enables Orc Software users connecting to BOX to fully realize their market and revenue potential.
The BOX platform is based on the Atos Euronext technology, which is the same technology as the Montreal Exchange to which Orc Software was the primary supplier of the technology for the traders and market makers.
"Orc Software has shown commitment and skill to develop a robust and stable system for the Canadian futures and option market. Orc Software will provide a well-proven solution to participants who choose to connect to BOX," said Rosanna Teti, Head of Information Technology, Montreal Exchange.
"We believe that the BOX's unique market model will be very attractive to the global trading community. Orc Software is able to provide our 169 client sites and new users with the best tools available to access this market," said Per Andersson, Global Head of Sales, Orc Software.
BOX is pending SEC approval.
