SOLNA, Sweden, Aug. 21, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- NCC Construction Sweden has been commissioned by Arla Foods to build new industrial premises for the production of milk powder in Vimmerby, Sweden. The order is worth approximately SEK 230 million. The contract will be included in orders received during the third quarter of 2003.
The assignment will involve the construction of a number of new properties, including process buildings, workshops, offices and warehouses, comprising a total of 25,000 square meters.
Construction will commence immediately and the project is scheduled for completion by December 31, 2004, which is a very short project period for such a large assignment. A total of about 90 employees will be engaged in the construction project.
"We have a track record of excellent and close cooperation with Arla. For example, we built Arla's cold stores in Jonkoping and cheese warehouse in Gotene. The fact that we have also been entrusted with this latest assignment is extremely gratifying," said Gunnar Masthagen, Regional Manager within NCC.
