Is The End Near? Unlocking Daniel's apocalyptic prophecies in new book

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho, Aug. 28, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Many writers have attempted to explain the apocalyptic prophecies in the book of Daniel but most have failed to provide satisfactory answers to the perplexing mysteries of the book. Biblical scholar Thomas C. Nixon declares that the book of Daniel was deliberately sealed from human understanding and that the real meaning of the prophecies would be revealed only when the right time arrived. For Nixon, the correct time has arrived. In his book, The Time of the End in The Book of Daniel (now available through 1stBooks), Nixon attempts to unseal the prophecy.

Nixon, who has a master's degree in divinity, explains that the world, upon entering the post Christian era, has arrived at the "time of the end." The Time of the End in The Book of Daniel accounts for this timeline. It clarifies the reasons for the concealment of the meaning of the prophecy. The Time of the End in The Book of Daniel argues that there are misunderstood portions in the prophecy. These include misunderstandings about: the meaning of the phrase, "the time of the end," the historical identity of the "willful king" of Daniel 11:36, the true meaning of the word "indignation" in 8:19 and 11:36, the historical connection between the "sale of the land" of 11:39 and the willful king. In addition, the separation of the prophecy between ancient and modern is explained as a time expanse between 11:39 & 40, which has never been understood until the writing of the present commentary.

The Time of the End in The Book of Daniel is a product of 10 years of diligent historical and biblical research. Though the topic is highly technical, laymen can easily grasp the accurate and easy to follow prophetic interpretation. The Time of the End in The Book of Daniel gives the reader a clear understanding of the prophecies supported with logical and concise explanations. It differs from most commentaries on Daniel with their usual footnotes and references that neither enlighten nor prove relevant to the readers.

Nixon was enrolled at the University of Houston when the U.S. Air Force called him to serve in the Korean War. After his tour of duty, he resumed his schooling and became a high school teacher. He retired from the teaching profession after 22 years and devoted himself to the systematic study of the prophecies of Daniel and the book of Revelation. The Time of the End in the Book of Daniel is one product of that labor. He is currently doing research on the Olivet Discourse in Matthew. 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 with the aim of publishing his findings. He and his wife live in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
