WHAT: Joel Short, chief technology officer for Nomadix, the leading supplier of Public-access solutions will speak at Intel's Unwiring Asia conference in Hong Kong on September 15, 2003 from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. The panel discussion titled "From Hotspots to Hotzones: Roaming, Connecting the Hotspots" will address Wi-Fi roaming connecting issues through a case study format. Dr. Short has extensive experience in the design and management of complex computer network systems, having worked for various technology start-ups and well-known technology companies including Apple Computer. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA where he was a lead contributor to various ARPA sponsored wireless and mobile research projects including TRAVLER - Transparent Virtual Networking and WAMIS - Wireless Adaptive Mobile Information Systems.
