Take the challenge - Nokia Game 2003 goes mobile!

Nokia today announced mobile online elements for this year's Nokia Game at the fifth annual Nokia Totally Board event in Sevilla, Spain. Nokia Game 2003 is an interactive adventure provided by Nokia that will be played across 35 countries around the world in 10 languages.

"For our fifth Nokia Game, we have created a truly unique and mobile online experience for players around the world. Last year, we set a new record with one million player registrations and we expect that the innovative new additions we've made this year will inspire even more people to play Nokia Game," said Pekka Rantala, Vice President, Marketing Services, Nokia Mobile Phones. "And Totally Board, with its amazing combination of sports, music and mobility is a perfect venue to launch the exciting new features of Nokia Game 2003."

This year, Nokia Game introduces a completely different game experience, split into two parts. The first part of Nokia Game 2003 consists of a mobile online gaming experience either available for free download from www.NokiaGame.com or on a special promotional game card included in the Europe and Africa sales packages of the Nokia N-Gage game deck starting on October 7, 2003 for a limited period of time.

Nokia Game on terminals includes three parts: the Flo Boarding game; chat with other players; as well as meet and interact with the avatar Flo, the virtual heroine of this year's story. Players can also take advantage of mobile online gaming elements to upload their high scores, download ghosts and compete against other players via Bluetooth wireless technology or mobile networks. The mobile online gaming experience can be played only with the Nokia N-Gage game deck and the Nokia 3650 phone.

The second part will take place for 10 days, starting on November 19, using the Internet, SMS, e-mail, chat and interactive voice response (IVR) calls to share information and provide clues and instructions to the players. To play, participants need to have access to the Internet, an e-mail address, and a mobile phone with the capacity to receive short messages. At the end of the game, the top 5 to 50 players in each country will each win a Nokia N-Gage game deck.

There is no participation fee to take part in Nokia Game 2003. There is no age limit to play, but minors need their guardian's permission to participate. Registration for the game opens on September 12, 2003.

Nokia Totally Board 2003 combines extreme sports, music and mobility in a unique event at Sevilla's Plaza de España on September 13. At the event, a 25-meter high ramp, covered in 300 tons of snow, will act as a playground for dozens of riders competing in the Big Air event. A vertical ramp will allow some of the world's best skateboarders, BMXers and inline skaters to see who can clock the most air. The crowd will rock to the tunes of La Fuga, A, M-Clan and Staind.

A related press conference will take place on Friday, September 12 at 16.00 CET. To listen to an audiocast of the press conference, please visit www.nokia.com/press at that time.
