OSLO, Norway, Sept. 12, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Song Networks AS and Telenor Mobil AS (Nasdaq:TELN) have settled out of court in the case of a market support agreement between Telenor Mobil and Telenor Bedrift. The settlement means that Telenor Mobil will pay Song Networks NOK 8 million as a full and final settlement for the compensation Song has sought for the years 1999 and 2000. Song Networks sought compensation, to be set by the court, from the Oslo Municipal Court in relation to the market support agreement between Telenor Mobil and Telenor Bedrift. Different methods of calculation were presented which concluded that the amount due was tens of million NOK. By the Oslo Municipal court ruling of March 25th, 2003, Telenor Mobil was acquitted. Song Networks has appealed to the Crown court.
The lawsuit relates to a period relatively far back in time and a problem of only historical interest. Due to this and considering the financial implications of a trial the parties have decided to settle the case out of court. The settlement is in no way an admission of responsibility for Telenor Mobil.
