Song Networks selects Nokia to upgrade its voice network in Sweden

Nokia and Song Networks Svenska AB have agreed on the delivery of Nokia's DX 220 optimized platform for Song Networks' fixed voice network in Sweden.  The cost-efficient Nokia equipment will enhance Song Networks' existing fixed core network and provide new EuroRelease functionalities.  With this agreement, an extension of the two companies' long-term relationship, Nokia becomes Song Networks' sole vendor for fixed switching equipment in Sweden.

Under the terms of the turnkey deal, Nokia will provide the new Nokia DX 220 Compact switching platform and software upgrades to existing switches, as well as EURORelease functionality.  The DX 220 Compact will help reduce Song Networks' operating expenditure. The EURORelease, Nokia's fixed switching software platform release for European customers, supports features such as user-to-user signaling (UUS1-3), TCP/IP, and Multiple Screening Windows for the Primary Rate Access interface between PBXs and mobile networks.

The Nokia equipment will be operational in the fourth quarter 2003.
