HERNDON, Va., Sept. 24, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Information Technology (IT) sector announced today that three employees have received Women of Color awards from the Career Communications Group Inc. (CCG), a minority-owned media services company founded 20 years ago with the unique mission of promoting minority achievement in engineering, science and technology.

The three Northrop Grumman IT employees are Cheryl L. Janey, vice president, State & Local Solutions; Denise Christopher-Millner, software engineering manager, Internal Information Services; and Ora Yvette Rubin, lead software configuration management specialist, Defense Enterprise Solutions.
"These women exemplify through their leadership that all of us can conquer our biggest challenges and reach our highest goals if we focus our efforts on quality, customer satisfaction, and integrity, and demonstrate respect toward everyone we encounter, regardless of how they may differ from ourselves," said Jeff Shuman, vice president, Human Resources and Administration, Northrop Grumman IT.
Janey has been selected to receive the National Women of Color Technology and Business President's Award. CCG's executive subcommittee grants the President's Award, a discretionary, non-category award, to individuals whose accomplishments distinguish them far beyond their particular disciplines in acknowledgement of their high merit and significant achievement.
Christopher-Millner will receive the National Women of Color Technology and Business Community Service Award and Rubin will receive a Women of Color Research Sciences & Technology Achievement Award.
The awards for Janey and Christopher-Millner will be presented during the National Women of Color Technology and Business Awards Conference in Atlanta, October 9-11, 2003. Rubin's award will be presented at the National Women of Color Research Sciences and Technology Conference in Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 12-13, 2003. These annual conferences celebrate the often-unheralded contributions of minority women in technology, business and research sciences.
Tyrone D. Taborn, chief executive officer of Career Communications Group, calls the awards long-deserved recognition for talented women of color.
