VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 7, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Howlett Research Corp. (www.howlett-research.com), a boutique research firm led by Jeff Howlett, President, announced today that it has recently published a comprehensive research report on Western Warrior Resources Inc. (TSX Venture Exchange:WWR), an exploration and development company with 100% ownership in the past-producing gold mine, the Cliff Mine, in Alaska and a 46,800-acre exploration property near Churchill, Manitoba in which both base and precious metals are sought.
The 100% owned Cliff Gold Mine Project is a past-producing Alaskan gold mine located near Valdez. The Cliff Gold Mine was in production at the onset of the Second World War when operations were terminated as part of war measures legislation. The historical average recovered grade from production at the Cliff Mine was 1.74 ounces of gold per ton. To date area of the Cliff Mine has never been explored by diamond drilling. The company reported yesterday that it had commenced drilling an estimated 5,000 feet of core in a series of holes (650 to 800 ft.) at the property.
At the Eppler Lake Project, a large ultramafic intrusive has been outlined which is prospective for platinum group metals (PGMs), copper and nickel. In addition to the PGM and base metal targets airborne geophysics has outlined an area of greenstone belt hosted iron formation that has potential for gold mineralization.
