Tides of Life - New Book Explores the Emotional Issues of Life and the Hope Beyond

WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Canada, Oct. 21, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Life is a whirlwind of good and evil. Every day, tragedies befall innocent people, and hardworking individuals live in fear of being crushed by their responsibilities. In honor of these individuals, Patrice K. Owiafe explores the pains of society and offers hope in his new book, Tides of Life (now available through 1stBooks).

Tides of Life is a spellbinding account of the tempests of life. Covering a myriad of topics, such as love, faith, hope, birth, poverty, despair and death, the book offers an imaginative, informative, philosophical work that explores the most important and pervasive issues affecting humanity.

"The work decries the insensitivity and neglect of our times and the divisions and violence of daily life. It abhors the poverty, frustration and waste of urban life; and the pain, ubiquity and insuperability of death," Owiafe says.

Although Tides of Life addresses life at its most difficult, uncertain and despairing moments, it is also inspirational. It implores the reader to peer beyond those troubling and painful times and discover the strengths and hopes that lie beyond them. Owiafe talks about how hard work may not necessarily bring triumph and good may be reciprocated by evil, but every action has value. These actions teach lessons that can be used for future decisions. This, says Owiafe, is "the bedrock of success."

A work of intensity and sentimentality, Tides of Life is a spiritually uplifting book for everyone grappling with the heavy issues of life.

Owiafe was born in Ghana. He studied at the University of Ghana, the University of Oslo, Norway and the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, where he earned his master's degree. Now a Canadian citizen, he lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Tides of Life is his second published work. His first, Heights of Terror, is a poetry collection dealing with the tragedy of Sept. 11.
