Global ePoint's Wireless Digital Video Surveillance System Installed at California Law Enforcement Agency

Ten Police Vehicles Equipped with Wireless In-Car Digital Video Recording Systems are Operating in the City of Riverside, California

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif., Oct. 22, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Global ePoint, Inc. (Global) (NASDAQ:GEPT) today announced the installation and operation of its wireless digital video surveillance system for the City of Riverside Police Department in California. The Riverside system has been initially installed in 10 patrol vehicles, with a configuration large enough to store digital video and audio data for approximately 35 vehicles for up to one year.

The system was produced by the company's Sequent Technologies division, which has developed a long-range video, audio and data transmission product line that includes its Raidius Information Management System ("IMS") and Ranger 350i equipment. Installation of the system was performed by EDO Technical Services Operations, a division of EDO Corporation (NYSE: EDO)

The Raidius IMS incorporates patent pending processes owned, engineered and developed by Sequent, including Sequent's exclusive video data telemetry embedding system, and a revolutionary "Video Assembler" technology. This next generation system automatically starts recording digital video, audio and other data when an incident is initiated. Immediate access to this data by law enforcement personnel can be obtained from central command centers anywhere based on simple English language requests.

With Raidius IMS, whenever patrol vehicles return to their stations, hours of video/audio data can be wirelessly transferred in minutes to Sequent's Information Archive system using Sequent's exclusive "Assembler Server" technology. The Assembler Server then provides up to 128 virtual channels of pre-formatted data for entry into any relational database system, giving law enforcement agencies immediate access to the video, audio and data telemetry.

The Riverside Police Department's Raidius IMS system includes an Oracle database system integrated by EDO Technical Services Operation. Sean Fischer, Sequent's Chief Operations Officer commented, "We are very pleased with EDO's success in being the first to deliver Sequent's Raidius IMS technology, and anticipate that this can be the first of many law enforcement applications that demonstrate the superiority of Sequent's next generation products and technologies. We will also be working on a number of public safety and Homeland Security applications using our Video Assembler technology."

Toresa Lou, Global's Chief Executive Officer added, "Having Sequent's wireless digital video surveillance system installed at a major law enforcement agency is a significant milestone. It is the first system of its kind to become fully operational. It is a testament to our product that, through our strategic partner, EDO Technical Services Operations, the Riverside Police Department chose our system over all other available systems. As a result of the system introduction in Riverside, we have now begun to refine our marketing strategies and plans in order to determine the best methodology to introduce our Raidius products to law-enforcement agencies throughout the United States."

Sequent Technologies will be at the 110th Annual Conference of the International Association of the Chiefs of Police (IACP) in Philadelphia, PA on October 22-24, 2003. The Ranger 350i platform and its deployment at the Riverside Police Department will be prominently featured at booth # 2362, with experts available to answer specific questions about the solution throughout the show.
