CHOWCHILLA, Calif., Oct. 23, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Global Diversified Industries, Inc. (OTCBB:GDVI) is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, Global Modular, Inc., has commenced delivery on six modular buildings ordered earlier this year by California's fifth largest school district, Oakland Unified School District.
Phil Hamilton, Chairman and CEO of Global Diversified Industries, Inc., stated that the project is in the final stages of completion with installation of the custom design structures currently underway.
To date, the total value of the contract is approximately $1,000,000.
Mr. Hamilton is pleased to announce that Oakland Unified School District is very happy with the finished product and the service of Global Modular, Inc. during this fast-tracked project. During the fabrication of the buildings, representatives from Oakland USD visited Global's manufacturing facility on several occasions and, each time, commented on how impressed they were with the quality of the construction details and the timeliness of the manufacturing process.
Mr. Hamilton stated that this project is a high-profile project for both Oakland Unified School District and Global Modular, Inc. The structures will be used for a citywide correctional program involving grade school and high school students. The custom design structures include classrooms, a science lab, an administration building and restrooms. Some of the design details include pitched roofs, concrete floors, millwork, specialty exterior finishes and other custom components.
"Upon completion of this project," Hamilton stated, "we expect this campus to be a `show piece' for other school districts throughout California to duplicate for future modernization or expansion projects."
