Today, at the annual TETRA World Congress in Copenhagen, Denmark, Nokia unveiled its new TETRA System release 4.0, which gives the optimal network economy for governments, public safety organizations and operators. It will be available for deliveries during the first half of 2004.
Operating costs can form up to 80 per cent of the total cost of ownership of a TETRA network and Nokia's advanced solution cuts this cost, allowing more organizations to reap the benefits of the world's most advanced Professional Mobile Radio standard.
"The new Nokia TETRA System release 4.0 will provide superior usability and functionality for our customers. The core network is fully scaleable ensuring cost-effective operations as the network develops. Introduce new features for improved co-operation as well as prioritisation in multi-agency shared networks - perfect for urgent operations on the move.
Include the new Nokia's Dispatcher Workstation, Generation X (DWSx) - a dispatcher station capable of end-to end encryption. This compact product makes exchange of encrypted information possible without special, expensive solutions.

TETRA technology is a world standard published by ETSI for digital mobile trunking networks.
