Intrepid Announces Flagship Biogas Facility

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho, Nov. 25, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Intrepid Technology and Resources, Inc. a renewable energy company (OTCBB:IESV) announces completion of preliminary phase of design of its "flagship" biogas production facility, an anaerobic digester project at a 4,000-cow dairy near Rupert, Idaho.

Using manure from the dairy cows, the anaerobic digester will process the waste product into methane gas. The methane will be combusted in a turbine generator system to produce over 400 KW of electricity. The electricity could be placed on Idaho Power's grid at the dairy or directed towards other uses. The Company recently submitted an interconnection request to Idaho Power, and the site specific Feasibility Analysis completed by Idaho Power confirms that the distribution system (power grid) is capable of integrating Intrepid's proposed generator. The Company will be employing a proprietary high-rate digestion technology provided by a partner that has 3 years experience of consistently producing biogas with 80% methane content -- which is nearly 1/3 better than the industry standard. Intrepid is now entering into the detailed design phase of the project with a scheduled ground breaking in the spring of 2004. The Company will be an equity owner in the digester and receive royalty payments for electricity sales.
