Identa Corp Announces First Purchase Order from CVS Pharmacy Chain

JERUSALEM, Dec. 2, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Identa Corp has announced that it has received an initial purchase order for 420 drug detection kits from CVS Pharmacy after a six-month negotiation. The kits are used for identifying the drugs cocaine/crack, heroin, marijuana/hashish and ecstasy.

CVS, the largest drugstore chain in the world with over 4,000 stores worldwide, plans to offer the products to the public via its web site.

"Identa views this order as a significant milestone in an entirely new market -- the civilian market," stated Yaacov Shoham.

Until now, the general population has not been able to attain completely accurate results with kits manufactured by other companies because of their limitation in identifying only the approximate presence of drugs. As a result, kits have returned many false positives, and each test must then be verified through expensive laboratory tests.

The kits designed by Identa eliminate false positives and the need for laboratory tests. This enables consumers to check the substance suspected of being a drug and receive a trustworthy answer within a very short timeframe -- in real time, without hassles and at a low cost.

Identa is negotiations with other drug store chains in the United States and the UK for the sale of its products.
