Northrop Grumman's California Microwave Systems Unit Receives ISO 9001:2000 Certification

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., Dec. 5, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) California Microwave Systems (CMS) business unit, Woodland Hills division, has achieved the prestigious ISO 9001:2000 certification, demonstrating that its quality management program meets rigorous international standards.

The Woodland Hills division of CMS specializes in the design, development, production, installation, and servicing of communication and information systems. Its quality management system was audited and certified by Smithers Quality Assessments, Inc., a leading independent accredited registrar.

"This achievement affirms our commitment to quality and continuous process improvement," said Tom Lupica, director of California Microwave Systems. "It also marks a milestone in our progress as a provider of custom software products for mission-critical government applications."

The ISO 9001:2000 standard, released in December 2000 as the successor to ISO 9000:1994, is an internationally recognized quality management system developed by the International Organization for Standardization. ISO-not an acronym but the Greek prefix iso or 'equal'-comprises a network of the national standards institutes of 147 countries. The organization maintains a Central Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland, that coordinates the system.

Smithers Assessments, Inc. is fully accredited by the Dutch Council for Accreditation and the Registrar Accreditation Board and is a member of the Independent Association of Accredited Registrars.
