LOS ANGELES, Dec. 18, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) has named Louis Charles Hook as its new Chief Information Officer.
Hook will be responsible for LAWA's Information Technology Division overseeing information systems and telecommunication functions, in addition to establishing internal policies and formulating a strategic vision for the technology needs at LAWA's four airports: Los Angeles International (LAX), Ontario International (ONT), Van Nuys (VNY) and Palmdale Regional (PMD). As the administrator heading the Information Technology Division, he will report to LAWA Chief Operating Officer Paul Green.

"Mr. Hook was evaluated as the best overall candidate to head LAWA's information technology operations and his experience will be a tremendous asset."
Hook has 19 years experience in the communications technology and systems management fields. He is currently president of his own firm, Compton.Com.Partners, LLC., which provides consulting and project management services to public entities such as cities, universities and non-profit organizations in communication technology, planning, management, analysis and implementation for Internet and data networking, as well as telephone infrastructure and systems.
Hook previously worked in the public sector as the Director of the Communications Technology Services Division for the University of California, Los Angeles for 10 years.
He earned a bachelor's degree from Occidental College in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Economics and a master's degree in business administration from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
