STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Jan. 28, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- According to media reports on January 28, 2004 PriceWaterhouse-Coopers (PwC) has communicated that in their review of Parmalat they have "found" a payment from Parmalat to Tetra Pak of Euro 15 million. PwC is quoted to have said that "checks were under way to determine the exact nature" of the payments to Tetra Pak.
The payment from Parmalat of Euro 15 million is the repayment of a loan made to them by Tetra Pak.
The loan was made to Parmalat Finance Corporation, The Netherlands, with Parmalat SpA as the guarantor on April 15, 2003. The loan was interest bearing on normal arms-length conditions, and was repaid to Tetra Pak International SA on August 13, 2003.
